Review FHO+ billing records before export

A practical review checklist for Ontario FHO+ physicians using FHO+ Billing to check service dates, categories, limits, saved entries, and reports.

Quick answer: Use Calendar and the billing snapshot to find records that need attention, then compare the saved hours and activity summaries with your own source records before exporting. The app helps organize and check entries; it does not decide claim eligibility or submit OHIP claims.

Check the service dates and saved entries

  1. Choose the service-date range you intend to review. Confirm that entries are assigned to the day the work happened, not the day you entered it.
  2. Scan Calendar for blank dates, explicit zero records, and unusually high or low totals. A blank date does not prove that no work occurred.
  3. Open any day that needs attention. Confirm the record is saved and compare each category with your source records.
  4. Review the activity summaries for indirect care and clinical administration. Keep them accurate and limited to the information needed for the billing record.

Check categories, limits, and prompts

  • Confirm that in-office care, out-of-office telephone care, indirect patient care, and clinical administration are in the intended fields.
  • Read the daily and monthly limit and ratio prompts. Use them to identify records to review, then confirm the applicable rule for the service date in the current Ministry guidance.
  • Check time conversions and rounding against the current FHO+ hourly-rate instructions. A displayed estimate is not a payment guarantee.
  • Correct an inaccurate entry from its source record. Do not remove accurate time only to clear a warning.

Compare the report before you submit a claim

  1. Create the hours report or billing summary for the same date range you reviewed.
  2. Compare totals and categories with your source records and billing workflow. Investigate any mismatch before relying on the export.
  3. Use your usual billing software and the current OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Ministry instructions to prepare and submit claims.
  4. Store the export only in a location approved by your practice, and keep a separate backup if required by your record-keeping process.

Important notes

  • The Help Center and app are workflow aids. Your FHO agreement, current Ministry rules, and your billing advice determine what may be claimed.
